In the 2017–18 season, Zlatan Ibrahimović's time at Manchester United was hampered by injury, limiting his impact compared to the previous season. After returning from a serious knee injury suffered in April 2017, Ibrahimović made his comeback in November but struggled to regain full fitness. With the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, his role in the squad was reduced, and he made only a handful of appearances, scoring once in the EFL Cup against Bristol City. By March 2018, Ibrahimović mutually agreed to terminate his contract with United, paving the way for his move to Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy.
