In 2012, Paul Pogba's football journey was marked by significant developments both at the club and international levels. At the start of the year, he was part of Manchester United's squad, having joined their youth academy in 2009. However, limited first-team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson led to his departure. On the international stage, Pogba captained the French Under-19 national team during the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He played a pivotal role in leading the team to the semi-finals, notably scoring a crucial equalizer against Spain in extra time, which sent the match to penalties. Despite Pogba converting his spot-kick, France was ultimately eliminated in the shootout. His leadership and performances throughout the tournament highlighted his burgeoning talent on the international stage.
